Happy New Year and hope all is well.  2017 was a very busy year for me, and I'm happy to have reached a number of exciting milestones: releasing my first CD as a leader, traveling to Europe, touring the West Coast and collaborating with so many wonderful friends and musicians.  2018 is shaping up to be a crazy year as well, and I can't wait to see where music will take me.  Thank you all for your continued support of my music, and I'm so glad I get to share what I'm doing with all of you.

I'm starting off the year on a good note with some fun shows in New York, as well as a solo piano performance in Cape Cod:

Deborah Davis Quartet - Live at Smalls (1/7) and Sound Bite (1/26):

I'm very excited to start the new year with one of my favorite singers out there, Deborah Davis.  First, we perform at the famous jazz club Smalls in the West Village on Sunday, January 7th from 7:30-10pm.  This club is always packed and full of music lovers, so it's a great atmosphere for music making.  Then, on Friday, January 26th, we will be performing at a newly opened venue called Sound Bite!  Sets will be at 7:00pm and 9:00pm.  For both shows, we will be joined an all-star lineup of musicians: Corcoran Holt on bass and Ben Zweig on drums (1/7) or John Webber on bass and Willie Jones III on drums (1/26).  For more information on our Smalls appearance, visit their website here.

Klazz-Ma-Tazz Winter Residency - Club Bonafide (1/10):

Ben Sutin's Klezmer Jazz project Klazz-Ma-Tazz will return to Club Bonafide in Midtown on Wednesday, January 10th at 7:30pm.  We're continuing to build hype for our upcoming second album, which will be released this coming spring.  Stop by for a wild fusion of genres, high-energy acoustic dance music and crazy arrangements of familiar tunes.  More information can be found here.

Solo Piano Performance at the Cape Cod Cultural Center (1/28):

At the end of the month, I'll be traveling to Cape Cod to visit my grandfather, who is celebrating his birthday.  While I'm there, I'll be doing a performance inspired by my grandfather's lifetime, as well as the 100th anniversary of the first jazz recording in 1917.  This solo piano program will travel all the way back to the beginning of jazz, stretching through time to the present day.  This show will take place at the Cape Cod Cultural Center on Sunday, January 28th at 2:00pm.  I'm looking forward to it very much!  You can find more information on their website.

As always, you can find the most up-to-date listings of where I'm playing on my schedule page.  I'll be making some NYC appearances with Michael Sheridan's Quartet, and continuing to hold it down with the legendary Curtis Lundy at Orama in Edgewater, NJ every Thursday from 7:30-10:30pm.

Hope to see you at an upcoming show, and all the best,
-Ben

Persons appreciate shopping for amazing, appealing, fascinating and from time to time attractive aromas for them selves and pertaining to others. This can be executed conveniently along with inexpensively in an on-line perfume shop.

I genuinely believed you would probably have something useful to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you can fix if you were not too busy looking for attention. After all, I know it was my choice to read..

    ben Rosenblum

Award-winning New York City jazz pianist and accordionist Ben Rosenblum has been described as “mature beyond his years,” (Sea of Tranquility), an “impressive talent” (All About Jazz), who “caresses [the music] with the reverence it merits” (Downbeat Magazine). Since the release of his debut trio album, Instead (4 stars, Downbeat), Rosenblum has toured extensively with his trio and sextet throughout the United States, including multiple trips to the Northeast, Midwest, South and West Coast, and internationally  in Canada, Europe and Japan. He was a featured soloist at Carnegie Hall's Stern-Perelman Auditorium (with Reona Ito's New York Harmonic Band) and has appeared at prestigious venues throughout the world, including at the Appel Room at Lincoln Center, Kuumbwa Jazz Center, Ravinia, Himawari-No-Sato Concert Hall in Yokohama, Bird's Eye in  Basel and the Library of Congress. Rosenblum's second trio album in 2018, River City, was called “richly romantic” and “well-realized” by JAZZIZ Magazine, which featured the title track as part of their Best of Fall 2018 CD. Most recently, Rosenblum released his third album, Kites and Strings, which is the first to feature him on both piano and accordion alongside his new sextet, the Nebula Project. In 2020, the Nebula Project was voted runner-up for Best New Artist in JazzTimes' Readers' Poll. Rosenblum has been privileged to share the stage with many highly acclaimed jazz musicians, including extensive work with Curtis Lundy, Winard Harper, Deborah Davis and Chris Washburne, as well as appearances with Bobby Watson, Sean Jones, TS Monk, Warren Wolf, Eliot Zigmund, and many others. Rosenblum's musical interests also extend beyond jazz to include work in numerous world music scenes, including musical styles from Brazil, Peru, Croatia, Bulgaria, India, Ireland, Jewish traditions and more.
